  1. Hi there,

    thanks for the code! But where do I add this function? I’m looking now in components\com_users\controller.php (jmla vers. 1.5). Or do I need to write a complete new plug-in for joomla?

    Thanks in advanced. Regards,

    Stefannno

    I’m really new to this so it’s a bit hard to understand everything. But I will give it a try.

    Is it possible you change the file’s? Or is it way 2much work? Or do you have an example for me?

    Thanks in advanced.

  5. Ok sounds great:) I already checked the site but which option do I have to choose?(Product You interested to develop)

    And the only thing I want is to send an e-mail with an link so the users login on my page on various locations.

    Thanks

  6. Can this allow the user to login and stay logged in for a period of time? We are requiring visitors to have user accounts to do specific functions. So we would like to be able to allow the user to auto login after that. Maybe a mix of a cookie and this?

    Hi Jack I hope we can do. Just try the login function there may be some parameter to set to do that. If you need my help I can try to find out.

  9. One thing that I find the most helpful is number five. Sometimes when I write, I just let the flow of the words and information come out so much that I loose the purpose. It’s only after editing when I realize what I’ve done. There’s defiantly a lot of great tips here I’m going to try to be more aware of.

  10. What’s really doing the login is this code:

    $credentials[‘username’] = ‘myUsername’;
    $credentials[‘password’] = ‘myPassword’;
    $mainframe->login($credentials);

  11. components\com_users\controller.php you can write in the function register_save()
    after this line UserController::_sendMail($user, $password);

    Remember you must have good knowledge in php and mysql.

  12. Don’t work code…

    please replace $id –>$ActivateID,
    $query1 = “update #__users set password=’”.$Password.”‘ where activation =’”.$id.”‘”;

    thank you

  13. Hello colleagues, its wonderful piece of writing about tutoringand
    completely explained, keep it up all the time.

  14. I wanted to follow up and let you know how really I cherished discovering this blog today. I will consider it a honor to operate at my place of work and be able to operate on the tips contributed on your web-site and also be a part of visitors’ remarks like this. Should a position associated with guest author become available at your end, you should let me know.

  15. Hiya,

    After the following:
    components\com_users\controller.php you can write in the function register_save()
    after this line UserController::_sendMail($user, $password);

    Where to call the function? I mean exactly which file in J1.5. Could you clarify a bit more?

  16. Hi,

    I am a java developer. My client has website developed using Joomla. I need him to invoke external soap service developed by me. I have gone through both of following links related to this topic. Topic# 614830 is relatively old and I was wondering/hoping if with latest version, is it possible to invoke external webservice to validate uid/pwd AND not require that user to exist in joomla user db? My issue is that those uid/pwd are defined only on my side and my client doesn’t have access to it.

    To clarify further, my scenario is this: I have a portal which links to my client’s website. Once I log into my portal using id/pwd, and click a link within my portal to invoke his website’s login page, he should be auto-authenticated against my portal uid/pwd. i.e. I should be able to bypass login page (but authenticate automatically) and directly go to his home page.

    Will appreciate any pointer on this topic or if you can help me (paid help), that would be even better.

    I tried to review these links…
